CCF Membership Meeting Agenda 8/15/2026

• Dues – Secretary Mark lead a discussion regarding 2027 membership dues and possible implementation of an initiation fee for new members starting next year. The club had a $30 initiation fee up through 2022, but it was eliminated in 2023 when regular membership dues were raised from $70 to the current $90/year. Reinstitution of an initiation fee would provide a vehicle for new members to “buy into” the improvements that we have been making to the club and provide additional revenue. In general, meeting attendees were in favor of an initiation fee. Mark will draft a 2027 Dues Sheet for approval at our next meeting. For background, 2026 Dues for neighboring clubs are:
  o Ancient City – $75 Dues/$100 Initiation Fee
  o Jax RC – $75 Dues/$25 Initiation Fee + $10 for key
  o Gateway – $80 Dues/$20 Initiation Fee
• Ground RC – VP Matt lead a discussion regarding addition of a crawler/heavy equipment/track at the club. This is something that multiple members have requested, and the BOD is fundamentally in favor. Possible locations are west of our parking area and/or east of the clubhouse. It was noted that use of the area east of the clubhouse would be very visible to those using the waste facility which may result in increased membership. The primary concern with addition of a dedicated RC area is the additional maintenance (mowing/trimming, etc) that would be required. Overall, meeting attendees were supportive of the idea pending generation of a more detailed plan. We would like to form a committee to further develop this concept. Anyone interested in helping make this happen should contact VP Matt.
• Safety – Safety Officer Rex lead a discussion regarding safety issues at the club. Highlights include:
  o Safety is an “all hands” effort. When one of us violates rules, it encourages others to also do so.
  o Use of arming tables is mandatory for aircraft with propellers/rotors. Planes without props/rotors may be armed in the pit area provided that you warn those nearby.
  o Announcements – When making announcements (taking off, landing, entering the runway, etc) make sure that you use a LOUD voice so that all other flyers can hear you. When someone else makes an announcement, acknowledge so that they know that you heard them.
  o When conducting a maiden flight, please announce it and make sure that everyone is paying attention, especially during the beginning of the flight. Please no maiden flights during big events.
  o When three or more planes are flying, please use a standard racetrack pattern. Direction of the pattern should be set by the first planes airborne.
  o When flying, try to minimize the amount of time that your plane is pointed directly at the flightline and pit area. Loss of control while pointed at the pit/flightline might result in injuries.
  o During large events like the County Airplane Adventures, we will institute additional safety measures which will be published before the event.
• Runway Options – President Jim and VP Matt lead a discussion regarding the runway and options for further improvement.
  o Two unexpected issues negatively impacted our earlier runway improvements. First, the quality of the asphalt millings was not as expected. They were much more course yielding a less smooth runway surface. Secondly, the landfill cap is much more flexible than expected so the dump trucks created very deep ruts in the runway. The ruts required a substantial amount of millings to fill, resulting in less than desired thickness in other parts of the runway.
  o After discussing the various options compiled by the board, the club members voted to proceed with additional runway improvements as follows:
  ▪ Immediately start a fundraising campaign to raise approximately $25k. The members present believe that this goal is obtainable and note that if each of the 70 adult club members donate the cost of one plane, the goal would be met. Former Board Member Dale Schock volunteered to lead the fundraising effort, and several substantial pledges were made during the meeting.
  ▪ Once sufficient funding is obtained based on the previous quote for Option #2 (emailed out with our meeting notice), we will solicit new/updated quotes for that same work described. We will make sure it includes as much detail as possible and that it includes the taxiways.
  • Option #2 – 8-10 truckloads of fine millings, professionally spread/leveled and sealed.
